All I can say about this week is that it was superb. It is a few years since I have been up near Oban and the Sound of Mull and I wasn't sure what it would be like now. I needn't have worried :-)
All credit must go to Tony for organising the trip, providing all the food and running everything smoothly despite taking a day out to go to a wedding in Fort William. The Old Post Office is a good base, with plenty of space for 12 divers, lots of drying and kit washing space out the back and thick stone walls that let you feel warm and cosy inside. Diving from Peregrine was good, shame we couldn't convince them to get a lift, but then we have just gone soft really. We played musical skippers, clocking up four in the week, I hope we weren't that difficult to put up with!
Best dives included the Falls of Lora, which I have wanted to do for years (a true roller coaster drift dive) and all the classic wrecks, including the Hispania, Shuna, Thesis and the good old SS Breda, which, nine years ago, was my first ever wreck dive.
Also excellent was our trip out to the islands of Col and Tiree where we dived the Tapti and the Aurania and spent 20minutes watching a pod of dolphins chasing our boat and riding the bow wave. We even saw two basking sharks :-).
